A few things about me….

Long dinners that last hours with family and friends fills my heart

Big Sur gets me every. single. time.

I love reading, I’m in two book clubs.

My first photography class that I took was in highschool where I got to develop black and white in a dark room.

My favorite things about a wedding….

I love it when I get to capture the getting ready time . It’s when you are with your true people and that time together is SO real, the laughs are real, the inside jokes are the best and it’s the time that your tribe showers you with their love and it’s just the most honest love.

I love watching the parents expressions as they’re walking down the aisle and they are beaming with pride, giving their child away eagerly and it’s funny or hesitantly and it’s touching, as vows are given and the most genuine words of commitment are made and what I think they are thinking is when did my baby grow up. I think I appreciate them because I love my parents so much and I’m also a parent so I can relate to that emotion of your child starting this journey in their lives and being so darn happy for them. Watching the parents is my favorite.

My ASBOLUTE favorite part of a wedding though are the speeches. It’s your tribes time to let all of the guests know how lucky the other person is to marry them. It’s their time to tell that story that will make people understand who you are and where you came from and to appreciate how you’ve probably grown up since then.

I love everything else about a wedding as well, I find these to be the most touching.

What I love about a family session…….

I love it when the kids are hams of course, but I also love the in-between shots of the kids running around and the mom yelling out “Don’t get dirty”!

I LOVE it when I tell the family to look at each other and it’s a little awkward to stare at your dad that closely in the face and the real smiles and giggles happen, and then I ask them to look back at me, at that very moment it’s a very genuine smile.

I love it when I take the parents away from the kids to take some shots of just them, and one of them usually can’t take their eyes away from their kids.

And one of my favorites is when I ask somebody to make the group laugh and sometimes a kid will yell out the funniest thing that makes me laugh……..so fun.

Growing up, ironically my parents didn’t take many photos. The photos that I do have I can tell you all about them because they are my most precious possessions that I have. If I had to run out of my house that was on fire, I’d grab the box with all the photos in it before I’d even think to go to my jewelry box.

There are never too many photos. Just ask my family.
